So this past weekend I went away to Atlanta & South Carolina. Under normal circumstances it would have been great to get away from Babylon (L.A.) and see all my friends and college homies however, it was a very sad occasion. A close friend of mine was killed in a car crash last Sunday night in Atlanta. No drinking or drugs were involved, I guess it was just his time to return to the kingdom above. I had never attended a funeral before, and was not looking forward to it at all. I was fine before the funeral, but the actual service was the saddest thing I've ever experienced. The worst part was the lowering of the casket at the plot site. It's like your solid affirmation of that person no longer being here with us. I can't stop thinking about him now. The night after the funeral I had a dream about him. It's so sad. This guy was so nice and genuine to everyone. Honestly he was not a man-whore like the majority of the other species are. It's so unfortunate when a young person is taken away from this world, especially one who is good-hearted, and accomplished. Shaun had just graduated in May. I can't talk about this anymore... This entry is for Shaun Cunningham... May your soul be at rest with our God above,
Love Phoenix (aka Tashina)
