I Love Vacation!!!
OMG, I had such a great time in New Orleans, they should really re-name that city "the city that never sleeps"! It was like Mardi Gras everyday. Public drunkenness everywhere you go (legally), loud music, half-naked people, it was great. I ate so much food at one point I actually thought I was going to barf. There was so much history and culture there. However, around every corner is a very strong reminder of the slave trade, and racial desegregation that plagued this country not too long ago. There were statues of "mammies" with very dark skin and pink lips, plantation posters, figurines with "nappy" hair, bulging eyes, and gigantic lips. It felt like they were celebrating what happened. Anyways, the world is full of ignorant people who try to make excuses for what happened, and dismiss it altogether, so I can't let that upset me. I met these 2 cool girls in N.O. to kick it with. I met more guys there in 4 days, than I have in my 2 years here in L.A.!!! The men were polite, humble, and genuine with their compliments. Ladies...if you live in L.A. and think you have to settle for the crap these men put out here because that's all that's available, think again!!!! Know that you are special and deserve to be treated with honor and respect. Don't let any man make you feel ugly or worthless because for every man that does, there's at least 5 men that feel the exact opposite.
